Volunteer
Getting settled in a new country is often difficult. Many things that native Iowans take for granted are new to those who haven’t grown up in this area or in the United States. Newly arrived immigrants and refugees are welcomed by the RIA with gifts of household supplies as well as on-going advice and help from those who have come before them.
If you would like volunteer your time, we have a need for:
- Drivers who are willing to give members rides to and from appointments, work, school, the grocery store, etc.
- Volunteers who can meet with newly arrived members to discuss any questions they may have about Iowa or the United States
